Spend the money - do good work - be done with it.

Tool works great. Hemmed and hawed about the price before finally getting the tool. Came with all the expander head sizes I needed. Chose the manual tool over the battery type as I know this thing will outlast me with how much I use it. With the power tool I thought if I need it 3 years down the road the batteries will be bad by then. I did the plumbing in my entire house without a single leak with these fittings. Very nice to be able to expand the pex where it's easier to get at and then quickly put it place before it clamps back down. Really helps in tight areas. Only complaint is with the shipping. The tool case opened and everything was free rattling around in the box. I'm in AK and it's not uncommon to get rips in packaging. If that happened the expander heads would've been lost... But everything did show up ok.

Not for weaklings-only Gorilla's

Bought this tool about a year ago for a one time Fire Sprinkler Project retrofit in my second home using Pex tubing IAW NFPA 13D, on sale, was a good price, finally got to make about 20-25 3/4 inch joints last week..takes alot of strength, I consider myself no weakling, had it been available and I'd known how much effort it takes to expand the pex tubing I would have bought a Power Expander such as the Milwaukee M12 instead...The extra $$$ would be saved in time and sore muscles..may still buy one...don't buy the manual tool except as a back-up if u are a professional pex installer, too slow and labor/muscle intensive!

Useful plumbing tool

This tool is simple to use and makes plumbing with pex possible. It has a very long life and no need to worry about batteries or a power source.

Exactly as advertised.

I bought this as a replacement for one that was stolen. My 1st set got a fair amount of use remodeling my rental properties. The quality is good and it just works the way it's supposed to. Can't ask for better than that.

Worked like a charm - made me a wizard

I used the tool to re plumb my entire house with Wirsbo pex. First time user and it worked like a charm. Works just like they show in the videos - no problems, just pump and then turn five times and push it on -that's it. 1/2 inch is easy, 3/4 inch takes a little more strength to pump. I look forward to using it again, sometime.

Great general use kit

The 1/2" and 3/4" heads expand the PEX piping smoothly and evenly with little effort allowing easy insertion of the PEX fittings. Design is robust for a tool of light weight and should provide years of dependable use. The 1" expansion head requires considerable effort and physical space to operate the tool so if you plan to use this size in confined underfloor spaces be prepared for the battle.

I would buy this product again and again

Have rented one of these for years. Figured when we plumbed the basement in our house, might as well own one.

Hand expander heads are not compatible with the M12 expansion tool. Only M12 heads are compatible and no old Uponor heads work with this tool.

Q: can the brass fitting use in the crip app be used on this unit with the rings/

No, the ProPEX fittings are the only fittings compatible with this tool.

In my experience, only ProPEX fitting connections can be created with this tool. ProPEX fittings have a unique design in regards to the pattern of the barbed portion that is made to fit with the ProPEX expanding rings. Crimp fittings have a different design. Also note that PEX-A grade tubing should be used when making ProPEX fitting attachments. Lower grade tubing is sufficient with crimp applications.

If you are wondering whether or not the tool can be used with anealed copper crimp rings, the answwer is no. If you are wondering if the brass fitting specific to Aquapex can be used with aforementioned fittings... no.
