Hot Water Heat Expansion Tank
Well made product that is easy to install and performs to specifications.
My hot water heat system (Finned strips and boiler) has been using this exact unit for the last 28 yrs. So far, only one tank had to be replaced due to loss of air, and the most recent replacement was for a leak at the valve. My location is in Michigan and we have a long heating season each year. So, under harsh conditions, this unit has been great.

started Leaking in 7 months
It developed pin holes and started leaking in 7 months. Only 12 psi pressure on the system.
supply house sent a replacement ,but it still caused me to shell out money for a service call and cleaning up the mess.

Q: The Weil-McClain boiler that I have has this installed on the side of the boiler horizontally, and uses a slightly different, but discontinued version of the auto fill valve. The version that is installed currently has the shut off and is turned 90 degrees. Can I use this valve in it's place and just use a 90 to turn it horizontally?

No the vent and scoop are extra,If you order the scoop make sure it has the correct pipe threads. New ones seem to be 3/4 npt. I needed 1 1/4. so if its a replacement check it out before hand to insure the correct size.
