Difficult to work On

This has been in service for about 5 years when one day it just died. The transformer is outputting 24 volts (27.1 actually) the fuse isn't burned, yet it has no indicator of power, and none of the thermostats have power. Fine it happens. But working on this is a nightmare. To get the front cover off there are 4 screws on the back that must be removed. This means the entire module must be removed from the wall. If you want to replace the power supply then the main board must be removed. To do that all the thermostat wires and all the pump wires must be removed. So basically then entire works has to come off the wall to do any maintenance. Access to the fuse is crazy, first the top cover must be removed, then you need to somehow get the fuse out of this absolutely tiny spot. One of those car fuse pullers is what I finally had to use to get at the darn thing. The front main cover really should come off without major disconnections, and the power supply really needs to be able to come out without taking the entire works apart. I am replacing this with the same thing (which probably is an indicator that I am crazy) but if it dies again then Azel and I are parting company.

Sometimes it's the little things

Recently installed this pump control. Two things about the design puzzle me. 1, the space allowed for wiring is very small. The t stat side is ok, small wires. The 120 volt side is way to small when you are working with 14 or even 16 ga wire. 2, this may seem trivial, but the 2 screws that secure the cover are tiny. They must have sourced them from a Swiss watch maker. Apparently the designer of this unit has never worked in a poorly lit basement and tried to fiddle a microscopic screw into place.

Excellent, Durable Controller

This is a replacement for the original, same make and model, that was damaged due to a rewiring error on my part. The original otherwise would still be in service, having been placed in service over 12 years ago. My installation is purposed for a radiant heat system, with a spare zone for future expansion if desired. Simple to install, great documentation accompanying the controller; what's not to like!
