NPT tightened properly
I bought NPT brass caps from 2 different suppliers. The other cap's machining appeared nicer, however, when I tested the fit on a nipple, the "nice" caps tightened immediately (too quickly). A properly threaded NPT cap should begin to tighten more slowly. I'm planning to use the parts I bought from Supply House and keep the others for possible emergency use. (I just hope and pray that the Chinese parts do not fail at some point. I once arrived moments after an actual casting failure. The part had appeared to be perfectly normal. I knew where the pump switch and the ball valve were to isolate the problem. It was a miracle I happened to arrive when I did.)
