Great master bath instant hot water
We plumbed this ES8 in-line with the main water heater, so that all of our master bath hot water is supported. Main heater is opposite side of the house. Has been installed since 2020, used daily, our water is not overly hard, and, in general, the main water heater replenishes it so it does not work too hard. We like the near instant hot water. Our electrical inspector required the unit to be on a dedicated 20A circuit even though it is only 80% of a 15A circuit. We also installed a mixing valve to limit the main water heater usage...which had a backflow preventer...which required a local expansion tank, so you might want to consider those items. It was installed vertically, for the max gallons, in a vanity cabinet. Takes up about half the cabinet and still leaves room for the sink drain, but just barely.

Died after 3.5 years
Worked ok for about 3.5 yrs then died. Bosch is an not a reliable brand- neighbors & family all need repair after 2-3 yrs use… do not recommend

7 Gallon Water Heater
Unit is as expected. Great for point of use - single sink. Will hang or set on floor/shelf with pipes up. Also set on floor/ shelf with pipes right side. Will not hang in this orientation. Wish that it would in some applications.
