Poor quality construction
I ordered 26 of these valves and after installation, noticed that 5 were cracked. I suspect that they cracked when brought up to temperature for soldering. Seeing as how this is advertised to have a "solder inlet", the valve should be able to withstand direct contact with a torch for an extended period of time. Very disappointed.

Great lead free outdoor faucet
I fixed and relocated a leaking hose bib. I was looking for a hose bib that was lead free and found this one. It is quality made and feels solid. Quick and easy to install. Easy to turn the knob on and off.

Q: The description says that this item is 1/2" MIP. One review said that this was a sweat connection. Is this item MIP or sweat?

It's both: male pipe thread outside, with sweat inlet. I bought the larger version of this item, which I assume is similar. An undocumented feature I noticed is that when turning the handle to "off", there is a point of higher resistance followed by a click. This may not be a desirable feature for an elderly person with arthritis.
