M-2-50T6DS is available as a double or single element water heater. Please note that this model is sold standard with two 4500-watt elements operating non-simultaneously unless otherwise specified.
Thermostat adjustment instructions can be found in the manual on pages 15 and 16. The manual can be found here on our website : http://s3.pexsupply.com/product_files/M-2-50T6DS-Install.pdf
It is not recommended by the manufacturer. See the information at the link below for further details. http://www.bradfordwhite.com/insulation.asp
you can always purchase an external wrap at home depot, but why? This one is already insulated. I can see no added benefit. By the way, it's a great heater!
This water heater has a 6-year warranty (this is what the 6 in the model number indicates). It can be ordered with a 10-year warranty, or upgraded to a 10-year warranty with proper warranty extension paperwork (item 238-43329-00).
This unit has a .90 Energy Factor.
We would recommend that you use a voltmeter to check the voltage and make sure the elements are getting power.
