Shared considerations when installing

This unit was purchased to work in tandem with an oil fired boiler that also has 10 gallon heat exchanger, responsible for supplying hot water. This system is about 100 years old, hence the properties, such as insulation and hot water distribution volume is totally inadequate. Once I upgrade both heating and hot water systems, the electric tank will serve as a backup. The unit is protected by a 30 amp double pole breaker and 240 volt double pole 30 amp switchwith pilot light for servicing unit. A programmable timer to streamline operating demands.Installation was simple; there were a few people on the web whose concerns and expertise were considered when purchasing the unit and then the actual installation. I am not a plumber professionally, but has worked, and do possess a diverse engineering back ground. My suggestions are that once you research a product; then consult a professional plumber and electrician to install the unit. It is very simple to under estimate your actual needs and potential problems that could arise. After installation, I adjusted the thermostats to compensate for the incoming water temperature which is very cold. So far the unit is working very well. Do follow all installation instructions. I also blanketed the unit to minimize on potential heat lost and it is supported above the ground, while braced to an insulated wall. Do be aware of the type of plumbing in your home, because you may be surprised to know that very old houses may have brass pipes, something to consider when connecting the unit's water inlet and outlet. Galvanic potential between different metals can cause corrosion through electrolysis; hence obtain the necessary hardware. The unit is making hot water, I do not have any negative concerns, but I hope to put this unit through a series of test and adjustments to meet the needs of a dual level small occupancy family home [...]

I would buy this product again

Bradford White's representative was knowledgable and explained why the deminsions of the water heater purchased was larger than the one replaced. Further, the price of the product is the best I could find.

Great Water Heater

This is my third Bradford White water heater I have replaced in my last three homes. I personally know the original water heaters new owner who stated that the unit is still working fine 11 years from the date I installed it. You cannot go wrong with this quality. It is well worth the extra money.

excellent water heater

the water heater is excellent, we removed our boiler and replaced with this BW 50 gal. the heater is extremely quiet, we had the heater installed by a professional but i helped with a lot of the work. the only issue i have was with the delivery, it appeared to be well packaged and in perfect shape HOWEVER once the packaging came off there were a few dings and dents. they dont appear to affect the service but i spent a lot of money so i was disappointed in that

Energy Efficient

We have had this water heater hooked up for over a year now. Very pleased with the performance of it, along with our electrical bill. We have never run out of hot water, in a home for two adults. Highly recommended!

Bradford White Electric 50 gal Water Hea

Just installed, changed plumming to flex lines and installed water inlet ball valve. Instruction manual was good. Received when promised with no damage. Shipping Box was somewhat flimsy. Ratings are excellent and works as described. Raised water temperature on both elements, factory settings were not hot enough. Plummer informed me to ensure that both element setting are the same. Water Heater has performed as expected thus far. Had space limitations or would have considered bigger model. Am very satisfied with PexSupply. They answered all questions I had and my order was processed with any difficulty.

Just what I wanted

Just as I had hoped. Lowest price for identical unit that others had at nearly twice as much. Perfect shape; name brand reputation at great price and quick delivery. Replaced identical unit I had installed 14 years ago so easier to hook up existing fittings. Good update; better insulation on water jacket. Would definitely recommend Pex Supply !

you can always purchase an external wrap at home depot, but why? This one is already insulated. I can see no added benefit. By the way, it's a great heater!
