Description
–
The Caleffi MixCal 521 series three-way thermostatic mixing valve is used in systems producing domestic hot water or in hydronic and radiant heating systems. It maintains the desired output temperature of the mixed water supplied at a constant set value compensating for both temperature and pressure fluctuations of the incoming hot and cold water.
The valve has been specifically certified to ASSE 1017 and Low Lead Plumbing Law by IAPMO R&T.

very good product
I think it is a great product, my only complaint is that the set point marker is on the rear of the valve if as most installs will be the cold is on the right, hot on the left, and you want the mixed water outlet in the up position. When that is the case the set point of the dial marker is on the rear of the valve making it hard to adjust especially if it is connected to a tall/large water heater.

great price for the product
Loved the press fittings which made for an easy install. I would highly recommend putting pipe sealant on ALL joints due to the fact that i had to keep tightening up due to leakage. It would be better if they came with o-ring seals rather than the fiber gaskets.

Best Tempering Valve Out There
I've used this product many times with great success. Caleffi makes superior plumbing and hydronic products. SupplyHouse offers the best pricing. Confused by another comment on here saying "It would be helpful if the setpoint indicator were on the front". Seeing as this mixing device can be mounted in basically any position, one of it's strengths, there is no "front". Simply install the unit so that the temperature dial is readily readable.
