Description
–
DiversiTech's A/C Secondary Plastic Condensate Drain Pan is vacuum-formed from
general-purpose Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) plastic. All of these drain pans
will contain a depth of 2 inches (50.8mm) of water, and are equipped with a 3/4-inch
diameter (19.0mm) Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) discharge fitting. The drain pans range in width from 12 inches to 36 inches (304.8mm to 914.4mm) and in length from 24 inches to 60 inches (609.6mm to 1524.0mm).
Secondary drain pans are used to collect condensate from cooling and evaporator coils in locations where damage to any building component could occur as a result of overflow from the equipment drain pan or stoppage of the condensate drain piping.

Very Happy!
Perfect size and function for what I needed. Just a warning that the top edge of the plastic pan was extremely sharp, I assume due to the molding. I used a utility knife to trim off the sharpness to eliminate the risk of cutting myself later. Didn't mind though, as the value was definitely worth the price - saved me hundreds from having to pay an A/C company to replace the pan.

The 3/4 pvc drain connector is mounted way to high in the tray. When I went to leak test the 30+ feet of pipe I had to connect to it I noticed that it holds about 2 gallons of water in the tray. In my application this was unacceptable. So to rectify this issue I removed the supplied connector, opened up the hole and installed an 1.25" pvc assembly that is also sealed to the tray with roofing cement. Now after the tray drains it holds about 1/8" of water. This is something I think the suppliers should look at.

Flimsy but serves the purpose
I used this pan under a dehumidifier in a crawlspace. The crawlspace isn't level or flat (it has a non-uniform, irregular surface). The pan kind of warps to conform to the surface it's on, and isn't super stable. That said, you should always install pans and equipment on a flat, level surface when possible.
This pan is less rigid than larger pans from the same manufacturer.

Size was the bottom
I bought this because the advertised
Was 16 inches wide. Unfortunately the bottom was 16 in. flaring up to about 18 inches. I had to cut the along the top to make it fit. Luckily my application was for condensation drip and doesn't require a lot of water containment
