Another leaky gauge! LEAKS FROM FACTORY THREADS ON SCHRADER
Tried these as I was tired of fixing every other gauge to be able to hold air! These are no different than their competition as I had to remove the schrader valve and reseal it. THESE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE AIR TIGHT TO CHECK FOR LEAKS! THEY ARE CONSTANTLY THE ONLY THING THAT IN FACT LEAKS!! ALL GAUGES ARE GARBAGE SINCE THEY STARTED USING GLUE INSTEAD OF TEFLON TAPE FOR THE THREADS!

The Best Plumbers/HVAC Contractors Test Their Work
After installing a "Lochinvar Buffer Tank" with 1 1/2-inch stainless steel threaded connections to a hydronic system to be filled with 50/50 mixture of Cryo-Tek 100 and softened water, I thought it best to pressure check the complete system prior to filling. I sealed the tank connections with "Blue Monster Mini-Monster 3/4" x 520" PTFE Thread Seal Tape", the leak test, (using the 3/4" Leak Test Gauge (0-30 PSI) showed a small continuous stream of bubbles at one of the tank fittings. Disassembly showed a small imperfection on some of the female threads on the
(1 1/2") copper adapter fitting. Using a new fitting, I re-taped the male threads on the tank, added "Blue Monster Heavy-Duty Industrial Grade Thread Sealant" and the issue was solved. Without the use of the Leak Test Gauge, I would have spent additional time draining to repair the leak. A handy tool, no tool bag should be without.
