Description
–
The most common challenge faced with a tankless water heater is when the water flow exceeds the power capacity of the heater resulting in reduced water temperature. To solve this issue, Eemax created a simple fitting that threads on the outlet side of the heater. The fitting contains an insert which limits the flow rate at a chosen level while causing almost no pressure loss below that level. With the Inline Flow Regulator installed, the Eemax heater will provide the desired output temperature regardless of the number of hot water outlets opened.

AWESOME PRODUCT! SOLVED THE FLOW PROBLEM RIGHT AWAY
I HAD NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A PRODUCT UNTIL I NEEDED SOMETHING TO SOLVE THE FLOW ERROR ON A ELECTRIC ON DEMAND WATER HEATER I INSTALLED. I WAS SEARCHING ONLINE FOR A SOLUTION AFTER THE PRESSURE REGULATOR I BOUGHT AND INSTALLED DIDN'T HELP. I ASSUMED IF I LOWERED PRESSURE THE FLOW WOULD ALSO BE LOWERED. THAT IS NOT HOW THINGS WORK I LEARNED. IT CAN LOWER FLOW BUT DOESNT NECESSARILY DO IT 100% OF THE TIME. I HAD NEVER RAN INTO THIS ISSUE BEFORE AND WAS SCRATCHING MY HEAD. THE HOME OWNER HAD PURCHASED THE ON DEMAND UNIT HIMSELF AND IT WAS NOT THE BRAND I WAS FAMILIAR WITH, AND AS I SOON LEARNED THIS BRAND HAS FLOW SENSORS IN IT. WHEN I FOUND THIS FLOW REGULATOR ONLINE IT WAS LIKE I HIT THE LOTTERY!! I ALSO LIKE THE FACT IT HAS THE DIFFERENT OPTIONS FOR WHATEVER FLOW YOU MAY NEED. I WAS TRYING TO CHOOSE BETWEEEN 2 DIFFERENT SIZES ON ANOTHER WEBSITE AND SEEN THIS ONE WITH 4 FLOW RATES INCLUDED. IT WAS A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN. I TRIED THE FLOW RATE ABOVE THE ONE I HAD CALCULATED AS BEING THE ONE I NEEDED JUST TO DOUBLE CHECK MYSELF AND IT DID LET ME GET A HIGHER TEMP OUT OF THE UNIT BUT NOT HIGH ENOUGH. IT IS A SIMPLE THING TO CHANGE SO I WENT DOWN A FLOW RATE AND WE HAD A WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER! I COULD NOW RUN THE UNIT AT WHATEVER TEMP I WANTED. PROBLEM SOLVED, HAPPY DAYS, GIMME MY MONEY! :)

Worked Great
This restrictor solved the problem with the E5 error on a Rheem electric on demand water heater. Slowing down the flow allowed it to heat to the set temperature. Lots of hot water now.

Should be included with every tankless hot water heater
I am thoroughly impressed that this tiny little device is so powerful. I had previously purchased an over engineered flow regulator, that cost twice as much and didn't work at all. This little unit that could immediately changed our water pressure by .5GPM, changing luke warm showers in to hot showers. Might I suggest a partnership with Rheem from point of sale.

Worked great to fix issue on electric tankless
I was having issues on an electric water heater I installed, and unfortunately, too late did I realize I probably undersized the system I installed.
I did install the 2gpm flow regulator and I do have uninterrupted hot water now. Previously it would get hot for maybe a few minutes and then the unit would cut off or trip the breaker.
If your water heater is having issues with that, one of these regulators to slow down the passage of water through the unit, allowing it to heat properly, may be the fix.

Very easy to install. I used the insert for the least flow. Flow rate did not appear to be reduced any. Used in an 18 kw hot water heater.
