Fantech EDF3 Main Controller
Originally purchased this product to pair with a new Fantech SHR150R HRV. Controller has 3 modes: high fan speed, low fan speed, and intermittent (on for 20 minutes every hour). These are the 3 modes that I desired for my application, but in the end I did not end up using this controller and will explain. The high and low fan speed settings run the unit continuously until manually turned off or changed. The high fan speed mode works well and as desired for my bathroom override controllers, which run the HRV for a set period of 20 minutes and then automatically shut off. The low fan speed also works properly and adequately. My issue is with the intermittent setting - before purchasing, I was unaware that this setting runs the HRV using the HIGH fan speed only, which was a huge disappointment since my house does not require this much air exchange. Nor does my house require continuous operation at either the high or low speeds. Additionally, at the high fan speed, this particular model HRV is excessively loud. I found a different (more expensive) controller that is much more flexible regarding fan speeds and am happy with that. Just wanted to let potential users these facts before purchasing.
