Vent Damper Motor Assembly - Plastic Base

I'm not a plumber or hvac guy first & foremost. Sunday night I went in the garage and heard a clicking coming from the motor on the boiler and tapped on it about 15 times until it stopped and heard the boiler fire up. Thought nothing of it at that time because all I know is if something is making noise tap on it until it stops amd we had heat and hot water. Hearing that boiler fire right then was the only reason I suspected that part because the very next morning we woke up to no heat and no hot water. This time the motor wasnt making a sound when I went out in the garage but because I heard the boiler ignite the previous night I suspected that motor. Looking at it for a quick moment I decided that the motor must not be letting turning the damper open therefor preventing the boiler from kicking on, so I tapped on it again and this time I made it start clicking. After finding the one and only motor and damper assembly in town (which they wouldnt sell me cuz im not a contactor) I called a plumbers and one said he could do it for $140. I said you gotta be kidding me for a 5 min fox cuz I just need the motor, damper is fine). Headed out to the garage, took off the 2 screws holding the motor on (left the connector plugged in), turned the damper open and stuck 2 pieces of aluminum foil on the sides of the shaft to hold it vertical to keep the damper open, took pliers and turned the motor manually and poof the boiler fired right up. Monitored it and it came on and off perfectly. So I knew imI was good to order the part from supply house and I could afford to wait for it. Part arrived and was installed in 5 mins. I then ran the hot water from the tub since it drained the most to get the boiler to fire that way I could watch the motor in action...so far (in its one day of service) has been great. Pigtail is probably the most challenging but i used a pair of pliers and carefully wiggled it out and then I just cracked away the plastic around the clip holding the wires.

After waiting seven days for this product to arrive and paying $34 for shipping, the product did not work. I had to call a mech contractor to trouble shoot the problem and that cost me over $300. The tech found the motor to be faulty after about one minute at the site. Supply house did the right thing and refunded the purchase price only. I'm still out the shipping....This must have been a freak incident as these parts typically work......I'm just lucky like that.
