Compatibility & Applications:
- For Field Controls GVD automatic vent dampers listed with replacement motor assembly 70009800
- Used on gas-fired appliances where a GVD vent damper is installed in the vent connector to control draft and reduce standby losses
Installation & Operation Notes:
- Disconnect power and shut down the appliance before servicing the vent damper
- Remove the existing motor assembly from the GVD body and install the 70009800 unit using the existing mounting arrangement and linkage
- Wire the motor assembly per the appliance and GVD wiring diagram, confirming interlocks and safety circuits are correctly connected
- After installation, verify full open and closed travel of the damper in response to a call for heat
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Replace the motor assembly if the damper fails to open, fails to close, or operates intermittently after wiring and linkage checks
- Inspect the damper blade and shaft for binding or debris if the motor stalls or struggles to move the blade
- Periodically confirm damper operation as part of burner and venting service

I hope this replacement unit lasts longer then the original.
This was a replacement for a failed unit. The failed unit was about 12 years-old and while I'd like for it to have lasted longer, the replacemnet was installed and functions as expected.

Easy swap. Works perfectly.
I was planning to have HVAC people come out to fix this but watched some videos. I was able to hot swap it. Didn't kill power. Didn't have to relight pilot.
