Gets the job done.
This one way valve popped right in and seems to be doing exactly what it's supposed to do. The plumber who installed the pump used one without a check valve which caused us to need to run the pump 100% of the time or else, the cold and hot would mix in varying amounts at different sinks. I guess he was used to installing recirc systems in commercial applications. Anyway, having the check valve located inside the pump body keeps from adding one inline. I installed ball valves on either side of the pump so in future it will be quick and easy to replace the check valve or pump.

Part was right but try to get the old check Valve out of a cast iron body circulator pump. And try to get new check valve back in not happening.

Exactly What We Needed
We were having issues with our hot water continuously turning cold with our on demand water heater. Turns out, a check valve was never installed on our hot water recirculation pump and cold water was working its way back up the line and mixing with the hot water. This part did the trick and we now have hot water throughout our brewery and taproom. Also, much cheaper than many of the supply houses and half as much as our local one, even with shipping.

Easy fix to No Hot Water
was getting stumped in why I had no hot water... was my recirculation pump dead? was it something?
as it turns out this valve kit (sits at the bottom of my Grundfos pump) had deteriorated and needed to be replaced.
Supply house had the part, quick shipped, reasonable price ...
now we have hot water!

Q: I've got my pump removed from the line. How do I replace the check valve? Does it go in from outside or do I have to open the pump up and push it up into the output port?
