I needed to replace my hot water re-circulating pump quickly. Took down the model number, internet search and Supply House had everything I needed. Now I'm not good at electrical or plumbing, I'm a computer admin. But, Supply House having the exact model and accessories made the job do-able for even me.

This Grundfos UPS15-35SFC Stainless 3-Speed Circulator Pump is overall a nice quality pump. It has a convenient switch to select what speed you would like it to operate at and it has a somewhat convenient push tab connector inside the electrical box to make electric connections relatively easy. The tabs are difficult to push and get the wire ends into however. Like the Taco circulator pumps it has a rotatable motor housing to orient the electrical box correctly with how the pump is mounted. My only complaints would be with the electric box itself. A few problem are present. First, the tab situation where it is very hard to push on them and push the wires in. Second is the all plastic box itself. You have to screw an electrical connector onto it and there is no way to install an angle connector properly. You can't thread the metal nut of the connector on the inside of the box like a normal sheetmetal housing. Instead, you are only able to thread the connector into the box itself which has deep plastic threads so it ends up tightening when it bottoms out and then that position is what it winds up being. Third, the two screws that hold the thin plastic cover on to the box are VERY small and the heads only accept a P1 Philips but more importantly the holes in the housing are too small for even these tiny screws and it is VERY difficult to get them screwed down all the way. It's quite annoying. Fourth is the flimsy construction of the cover. It never really sits 100% even on the housing even with the stubborn screws in all the way. I have installed a few of these pumps and they are always the same so it isn't a one off manufacturing issue. Overall, the electric box on this pump is unsatisfactory. I would never have designed it that way with it's multitude of issues. Having said that the speed switch is a great touch that even Taco doesn't have in a reasonably priced recirculator pump. The pump is quiet and otherwise well constructed.

Bought this pump because it included an internal check valve. The old domestic hot water loop recirculation pump was a low head pump and was allowing back flow cold to hot during peak load DHW conditions. The check valve on this pump solved that issue.
