ALPHA 15-58F Smart ECM High Efficiency Circulator Pump with Optimized Setpoint Control

We had a new wall mount radiator zone with manifolds and TRVs installed on a combi boiler hydronic system. Our system already had 2 baseboard heat zones with zone valves and a single "dummy" circ. pump. Plumber never added a bypass nor upgraded the circ pump to prevent the TRV hammering noise. Ordered this ALPHA pump and the next day it was delivered, installed it, and now the hammering noise is gone. Excellent Pump with a lot of features and gives you alot of data on your system. Highly Recommend!

The pump seems to be working OK, as do most Grundfos pumps, but the "Quick Start" guide that comes with it is poor. I can't even tell what the pictures/diagrams are trying to tell me. Please, just give me a few words, why is that so difficult?

First pump was dead out of the box. Ordered replacement, so far it's doing its job. Is it worth the money? It's nice to be able to see all of your operating pressures, flow and temps, via app. Easy to set up, and install but the fact that first one didn't work out of the box, makes me nervous that this thing won't hold up long term. I picked this pump because of steady pressure that it maintains with multiple zones open at the same time, it does good job at that, keeps all the lines pressurized evenly and flow is consistent on all 5 zones that it serves regardless of head difference between some of the zones. Being that first one was a dud, I honestly can't recommend this to anyone who is looking for a proven product that will serve them long time.

This was a replacement part for a 17 year old pump. It fit perfect and is working as designed. Thanks.

Installed as replacement for the older Alpha 15-55 pump. Wiring location changed slightly so wiring may need to be adjusted. Much better fine-grained programming control vs old model.

It isn't often that a component of my hydronic system brings me joy but this pump does that. I purchased one of these to supply an 8 zone, zone valve actuated, fin tube second floor of my house. A perfect application. I set the pump to constant pressure and it runs at the appropriate speed to provide flow for 1 to 8 zones as demanded. Most of the time it's just one or two zones at a time and it pulls about 15 watts. If all 8 zones are calling for heat it's still under 30 watts. And I can see the watts displayed on the pump every time I walk past the boiler room! Seeing the efficiency displayed prompted me to replace my other perfectly good 15-58 pump with this Alpha model. This second pump supplies underfloor heat to the first floor though 11 loops of 1/2 inch pex (not zoned) The setting for this pump that seems to work best is constant flow. As currently set (less than 6 gallons per minute) this pump is only drawing 15 watts! I love the app because I can check on stats, try different modes, different flows and balance the system to provide the efficiency and responsiveness that I want. Additionally the pump will self purge if it detects air or you can request it purges for a predetermined time using the app. The pump has an auto adapt mode which wasn't helpful for me, in fact the auto adapt wanted to increase head and flow to my first floor because the pump "ON" time was too long. It was cranking it up to 38 watts. I wanted longer run times to prevent the floor from getting cold because the air temperature was quickly satisfied and to help balance the fin tubes upstairs with underfloor downstairs. So I turned the auto adapt off and selected constant flow and adjusted the flow to achieve an economic balance between responsiveness and longer run times. The big plus is with every adjustment I can instantly see how the flow, head and watts change right on the app.

I use it as zone pumps and on indirect water heater loops. I like it not having a plug anymore because the wiring with the plug was a pain.
