Megaloc Thread Sealant (8 oz.)

I live in upstate NY. The winters can get very cold. I am an owner/builder that has installed high efficiency hydronic heating systems in several houses, and these systems require a lot of pipe thread connections. But they are the key to comfortable winter living here. The wide variety of places where plumbing components are manufactured has led to difficulty in getting leak tight pipe thread connections. Once I discovered Megalock and Blue Monster PTFE tape, and I use them together, I never see a leak in any plumbing connection. This takes a little more time, but it is well worth it when you don't need to take fittings back apart. An additional benefit is that when you want to take the connection apart, it is easy to disassemble. I also leak check all my work with compressed air before I fill the system with water. I often find that leaks appear later (from thermal cycling) when I use other thread sealants. But I've never seen this with Megalock and blue monster.

I shake it and I stir it before use but I do not get consistency. It does not go on well on the thread like my Rigid brain pipe dope. I just dont know why.
