Still Using Plumbers' Putty...
Even though the world of plumbing has become a world of gaskets, gaskets at tub drains, sink pop-ups, etc. etc. at least in my work, there is still a place for plumbers' putty. (When you have someone's "antique / precious" sink that has a big enough chip in the enamel / iron at the drain that gaskets are chancy at best, when you need to sit faucet bonnets on a certain kind of tile surface, etc. etc.). My humble opinion that you don't have to share if you don't want to: it ain't over for plumbers' putty...
The other observation is that my business has been hectic and erratic this summer, and my ordering from Supply House has been hither and you and scattered. They have, however, put up with me gracefully, and I've received good stuff in good shape in good time.
