Description

TrueEASE humidifiers run water and air through the system when humidity is needed; using less water and saving energy by eliminating the constant cycling of air, saving customers water, energy and money. Plus, since humidified air feels warmer, customers can turn their thermostats down to help reduce heating bills.

Thanks to TrueEASE's patented design with multiple snap-into-place configuration options, obstructions such as pipes or compact spaces with tightly fit water heaters will no longer complicate installations.

Features:
  • Up to 30% Water Savings on Advanced Bypass Models - Timer-metered solenoid wets the pad only as needed, reducing water waste by as much as 30% and savings up to 5,500 gallons of water per year
  • Interchangeable Bypass - Simply remove the bypass, flip it and snap it back in place!
  • One-Piece Design - Mounting screws are located around the perimeter of the humidifier, making it easy to install in a single step rather than mounting a separate frame assembly.
  • Integrated Wiring - Push terminals make TrueEASE simple to wire and the integrated control board eliminates cost and time spent on separate relays typically required to deliver additional humidity by forcing the fan. Simply flip a DIP switch to set advanced humidification options.
  • Quick-Connect Plumbing - All plumbing is connected in a single step by attaching the hose to the quick-connect gasket
  • Familiar Footprint - Installs in the same space as existing bypass humidifiers for easy retrofit upgrades. A foam seal ensures a tight fit
  • User Friendly Pad Access - Pad replacement is accessible from the front and either side of TrueEASE Bypass models, and the easy slide-out design means there's no disassembly of the humidifier or interaction the the plumbing needed to change the pad

Great investment for your house!

I recently bought a new construction house. We have wood floors, and the builder strongly reccommended we get a humidifier to keep from from warping/shrinking/cracking. The builder wanted close to $1000 to add one in while they were building the house, but we declined. I'm glad we did. This unit wasn't overly difficult for an advanced DIY'er, you just have to know electrical, hvac, and plumbing pretty well. The worst part was cutting into my brand new ductwork, and wiring this thing to the furnace board. Overall, this thing has made a huge difference in our house. Before, our humidity was around 15%. We were getting shocked whenver we hit a light switch. Now, it's much more comfortable around 35%. One thing to note- it'll take about a week to get your humidity up to the desired levels. Ours ran non-stop for a few days to get the levels up, but now it runs like normal.

Quality Issues

I originally wrote a review a short while after installing this unit in 2014. Unfortunately, I'm back on SupplyHouse looking for a replacement. While it does it's job, it's too much of a liability. Since I've had this over the past 4 years, I've had to replace 3 solenoid valves (one a few months after installing, Honeywell wouldn't cover it since I didn't have a licensed HVAC'er install it), I've had the included drain tube back up, and leak water into my furnace multiple times (luckily the furnace shut itself off, but I'm sure there are some long term damage to it), and I've also been having the internal filter holder fall out, so water pours out the bottom, and leaks onto the floor. I ended up putting in a wifi water sensor to alert me of issues (something I should have anyway), but it's at the point where it's too much of a liability, and I don't trust it with all the issues. My friend has another popular brand installed, and has had zero issues. I'll be going that route. Disappointing, I always choose Honeywell when I can; they seem to have gone south in the quality department with this one.

Does great

I needed the humidity up in my garage/shop/bar/studio. Needs to be above 40% for my guitars. Does a great job!

I would NEVER buy the Honeywell HE150A humidifier again.

I have had to replace the solenoid every year for 3 years in order to get the water flowing into the humidifier. This year, I refuse to buy another solenoid ($100) and am going to have an Aprilaire installed.

TruEase works as advertised

The HE-150 almost puts itself in due to the very thoughtful engineering. It doesn't matter which side you choose for discharge it can be reconfigured instantly. While it is rated at 12 GPD this is actually overachieved if you use hot water as the supply. Warm water evaporates faster and due to intelligent controls very little water is wasted. The included humidistatis very accurate and includes an o/s air temp sensor that can be configured to match whatever ambient is encounteeed. Here in Central New York I set to 40% and back off the table to "5" with no drooling windows.

It's a Honeywell

I am an experienced home handyman (retired telecom field engineer) and have recommended and installed several of these units in the last year. This unit will deliver more than 12gal @day if you use hot water, yes hot water as it vaporizes much more quickly than cold and catches up quickly. The unit is very well thought and accommodates supply or return mounting, right or left discharge, connectorized design eliminates 1 area of installation exposure when wiring. The included humidistat installs readily, is simple to operate and allows for lots of flexibility for operation. While it is plastic it is very sturdy and aesthetically pleasing. Installation instructions are clear with sufficient information for the various operational modes available.

Works well - with a caveat

This unit worked fine until: I too experienced the problem of the filter falling out no matter how many times I carfully reseated it. I found the solution in medium size metal paper clamps from the Dollar Store that I clamped on both sides (you'll figure it out). I NEVER had a problem since. In fact, when I pointed out my solution out to a tech performing yearly maintenance on my furnace, he promptly removed them and reseated the filter wrong and guess what started happening again? I ended up reseating the filter properly and reinstalling the clamps (no problem since). The only thing to be aware of is that they should be replaced with the filter because they can rust (they come in 10-packs for 1 dollar, so cost is not an issue).

Works good

Have a 1500 sqft ranch, took a day for diyer to install but made a big difference in the house. Had to turn it down, got the house up to almost 50% and 70 degrees with temps around 10 outside. Really like that it turns itself on and off when needed. Only reason for 4 star is the sensor, not accurate. Shows 15-25 when the house is around 40-45, so settings need to be adjusted. I set mine to 15 and seems to keep it around 40.

Great Humidifier for Homeowners

I really like this Humidifier for homeowners because of the automatic bypass damper. Over the years I have seen far to often the failure to close the bypass damper for cooling season. This humidifier solves that problem.

service is great

Have not had to use humidistat as of yet due to warm weather and humidity has been above the settings. When I received the product it had a small broken part. Not anything to prevent workings of product, but they sent out new unit with new part at no cost to me. Return shipping was paid for by company.

I installed this at my Mom's house about two years ago, and if I remember correctly, it came with a basic duct-mounted humidistat. I know it didn't come with a digital one .... Guy
