The ZD is a power close and spring open damper. It has a 24-volt motor used to control circulating air in heating, cooling and ventilating systems. It is used when a normally-open damper is required. The ZD is typically used with the TrueZONE systems and other electronic zoning systems.

- Adjustable range stops.
- Mechanical visual position indicator for damper status.
- Solid construction using extruded aluminum frame and blades.
- Parallel blade design for low leakage performance.
- Quieter operation with fewer blades.
- Simple, easy-to-wire, two-wire installation.
- Reliable, strong, 24-volt spring-return motor.
- Fail-safe, normally open operation.
- Compatible with conventional and networked zoning.
- Ordering Instructions: Order ZD (dimension 1) x (dimension 2). (Motor is always mounted on dimension 2 side.) For example, ZD10x8 is a 10 in. x 8 in. damper with the motor on the 8 in. side; but a ZD8x10 is a 8 in. x 10 in. damper that has the motor on the 10 in. side.
- Damper can be installed in any orientation (mounting side can be on either the bottom or the side of the duct).

Easy install
Bought to replace an older damper motor that broke and didn't have a replacement available. Matching the numbers (M1, M4, and M6) on the Honeywell control panel made wiring a breeze after cutting the duct opening about an inch bigger.

Solid product with everything you need (2nd of 2)
As a 1st time buyer and DIY'er I'm very satisfied with the product.
- forgot to add in my other review that the price was competitive vs 3 other places I evaluated
- and 1 more important thing is that I received the product within 2 days of ordering (basically next-day delivery) without extra charge, which was a huge benefit
- it is very solid, baffles have enough clearance with the frame not to damage them in case you have to "shove" it in, while there's no wobbly feeling when in the process
- I love the indicator showing you when the baffles are closed or opened
- a really nice feature of adjustable closure (30% and more) helps to keep the "closed" zone partially warm/cold
- very well packed, eliminating the potential damage during transportation
- instructions are well-written and simple to understand

Improvement over older version
Never quite knew if my damper was open or closed with the older Honeywell damper as I couldn't recall where the position of the set screw was supposed to be in the open or closed position. This newer version has a window with an indicator that moves to the labelled "Open" or "Closed" sides of the window. Will see if the gears last as I had to flip a gear 180 degrees on one of my old Honeywell dampers after the teeth wore off (a trick I discovered on-line to deal with this common problem and not have to purchase a whole new "motor. ")
