OS-100 Outdoor Sensor Kit for HydroStat 3200-PLUS and 3250-PLUS

Installed a new controller to replace a Honeywell aquastat no longer available. I just purchased the sensor to use the outside temperature compensation feature. Works great.

Just recently had a triple pass boiler installed, and asked the installer about about adding an outdoor reset. He made it sound like a completely different control system needed to be installed, but after looking at the manual for my Hydrostat 3250, I saw that this kit was optional equipment to enable the reset feature. Kit was real easy to install. The instructions say it includes 9ft of wire, but it seems like more to me. Was able to leave a decent drip loop, and some extra slack outside incase I needed to relocate the sensor. Wiring in the hydrostat is just two spades in the desired location, then determining the design temp to program the reset in the box.

Came with at least 20ft of cable, that was a nice surprise!

Excellent product at a very good price

This is standard 22 gauge wire but the sensor end is very well attached and coated so it will be protected from the elements. I was disappointed in that I thought I was only getting 9 ft of cable, but I was very happy when I saw the huge roll that was in the box. It's at least 20 ft, which is what really is needed for most applications. The wire ends have a copper cap on them that fits perfectly into the provided spade connectors, making crimping even and very easy. The bracket is also coated so there shouldn't be any rust issues. The directions are straight forward.

This add-on sensor senses the outdoor temp and computer controlls the boiler temp for maximum fuel savings. Super easy to install and setup. This should be included on all Hydrolevel installs. Most anyone that's handy can probably install it.
