Happy to find this compression fitting.

I was running some Pex Al Pex to replace some old black pipe heating lines to my radiators. The radiators were connected with copper to black pipe and this was causing the pipes to corrode. I already had the Pex Al Pex as I had used it before and I only had one set of compression fittings. I know that press fittings could also work but I did not have the tools and it cost a lot. I am just a homeowner doing my own repairs so I was looking for compressing fittings. I checked all of my local stores but they were not available. I then checked online and found them at SupplyHouse. They were perfect for the job and they were shipped very quickly. SupplyHouse had a wide selection of fittings and pex tubing. I even purchased 100' of Pex type A because I could not find it in local stores. SupplyHouse had all of the items I needed and they were delivered very quickly. Thanks for having the latest in Plumbing and Heating supplies.

Can't solder 3/4" copper into the ID

Big downfall - Can't solder 3/4" copper into the ID of the fitting. MUST use 3/4" pipe thread coupling. So you need this fitting, 3/4" coupling or 90 and a 3/4" copper male adapter to go to copper pipe. The fitting works the way it is advertised, NO problem with the fitting. ADVICE - STAY AWAY FROM PEX-AL-PEX!! It is cheap but the fittings are almost impossible to find and if you do the selection is VERY limited and they can be expensive. Standard 3/4" pex anything will NOT work with Pex-AL-Pex.

Great hard to find compression fitting for Kitec

These fittings are hard to find in local stores. I had some 3/4 kitec that I needed to transition to copper and these worked perfectly.

Works Perfectly

I have used several of these fittings for pex al applications. They're not cheap, but they work great. SupplyHouse is an awesome company to deal with. Prompt delivery, fair prices, and outstanding customer service.

PERFECT fitting to connect 1/2" PAP to air compressor system

Unlike many other reviewers, I used 1/2" Pex AL Pex line as an air compressor line. These fitting are perfect to connect my air compressor to the overhead line, and at the other end to connect to my air hose reel. Supply House shipped my order the same day I placed my order, and I had my fittings in just a couple of days.

Came within two days of placing order

I cut a water line then realized it was kitec tubing. Nothing else would work except these fittings. Came fast and saved the day. Thanks...

ASK A QUESTION

Q: Can these be used at the fixture ends of a home run system to supply fixtures not normally used for drinking water, such as baths, showers, toilets, dishwashers, washing machines, and laundry sinks? (Did I get that list right?) What are the access requirements for these (compression) fittings? Can they be used "in walls" immediately behind stop valves or in conjunction with shower mixing valves, if access is explicitly provided say via an access panel? Or incidentally say in an unfinished utility closet? Can they be used between floor joists immediately below stop valves or risers, if access to the fitting is provided say via the basement? Crawlspace? Can they be used between the floor joists of a second floor, if access is provided via the first floor, but a leak may cause some damage before it is detected?

No, the fittings are not NSF approved. You can use them for heating, but not for plumbing. We recommend that you follow local code requirements for the placement of the fittings (most likely will be the same practice you would use for copper).

This should work with Kitec tubing, as long as it is PEX-AL-PEX.

Q: Is their a torque spec on the 3/4" pex-al-pex compression fitting?

The manufacturer does not provide a torque specification on this item. They recommend that the fitting is hand tightened and then followed by a 1/4 turn with a wrench. Then, if a pressure test is completed, tighten the fitting as needed.
