Solved the problem
Our old capacitor didn't have enough kick to start the indoor fan in our AC/heat pump. A very inexpensive part that a service pro would have likely charged one or two hundred dollars for in addition to their service call because they just can't make any money otherwise.

I fixed my 50 year old Systron-Donner audio generator
I needed a 1 uF 600V capacitor for the ferroresonant transformer power supply in my audio generator. I bought 2 of these (2MFD 440V) and connected them in series to create the capacitor I needed. connected in series should provide a 1MFD total capacitance at 800VAC. The original part was over $50 so I tried this.
So far working perfectly.
