It did the job for me. But keep in mind, when a Brass Cap has been attached to Cast Iron for a long time, usually you have to drill numerous holes in the cap and then cut the brass cap into small pieces. In my case, I had a plumber do that for me and then he put a new cap on and lubricated the cast iron threads. I needed this to open the cap at after that and this did the job for me. Check U Tube for videos on removing brass sewer caps.

I don't need another useless tool
This tool doesn't work for either of the covers I purchased. Maybe I didn't do enough research, but it seems dimensional information would have been handy.

The Right Tool for the Job
It's amazing how much easier a project is with the correct tool.
I have been struggling with blocks of wood or pieces of channel for years.
This tool fits the covers well and provides plenty of leverage.
