Leaked refrigerant after 8 months.
Installed this Ranco Dual Pressure safety switch 8 months ago. Last week had to replace because it was leaking refrigerant. The system was very low on charge. However, low pressure safety switch didn't cut the system OFF and that poor condenser was running at east for 1.5 days almost completely empty; compressor was over heating with no oil circulation. I had to pay out of my pocket for the new high- and low- pressure switches for the refrigerant and my labor was free of charge because that condenser was still under 1 year parts/labor warranty..... I am the cofactor that did the installation. I had very bad experience with Ranco mechanical Fan Cycle switches as well.. I don't feel safe installing any of Ranco mechanical pressure control switches. The failure rate is almost 100% within a year.
