2 Ranco fan cycle switches. Both failed within 6 months.
I've purchased 2 of these Mechanical Ranco Fan Cycle Control Switches for customers A/C units. First switch started to leak refrigerant after 3.5 months. Second switch failed after 5.5 months. It would just stay open no matter what refrigerant pressure is on the liquid line. If I tap on it with a screwdriver it will close contacts. It would run the cycle and again will get stuck in open contacts. I cannot return these Ranco Fan Cycle Switches because I've purchased it for my truck stock and it was seating on my truck for a year before I've installed it. So, I've replaced both with Penn brand name mechanical switches. I wouldn't say that Penn never fail, but at least those are WAY more reliable than Ranco and I've only seen 1 out of ~ 15 that failed last year after 2.5 years on the walk-in cooler condenser.
