ScaleCutter Water Conditioning System, 3/4" Feed

NOTHING BAD TO SAY ABOUT SUPPLYHOUSE. I'm actually emailing a friend my receipt of everything that I ordered to install my tankless water heater from SH. SupplyHouse has been great. The plastic mounting bracket that came with my ScaleCutter is flimsy and useless. I was under the impression that this product came with the sturdier stainless-steel mounting bracket especially for what I paid for it. I do not know if I would buy this again, because, I have not installed it to try it out because I do not trust the PLASTIC mounting bracket.

Scale cutters for Rinnai tankless water heaters have changed in appearance over time in that the brownish casing has been changed to a clear casing. Most vendors continue to use the old picture showing the brown casing, and Supply House's online catalog shows the clear casing. Initially, I had assumed that the brown casing was the updated version. Given that color change may indicate a material change related to safety or quality, I called customer support to inquire about why SupplyHouse seemed to be selling a version that is different from all the other suppliers I knew. The customer rep referred me to the manufacturer's technical support. The technical specialist gave me an in-depth history and technical explanation for why the change in the casing material and confirmed that the clear casing is actually a newer version of the product. PS: Without going into the technical details, both versions are fine and safe for tankless water heaters where the incoming water is cold rather than heated water.

We use these filters regularly in conjunction with Gas tankless water heaters in the harsh waters of west texas area

It appears to be a good cartridge holder. I had alot of trouble screwing in the brass PEX fittings. The threads are extremely easy to mate the threads incorrectly.

Bottom line. I had one of these with a fractured lid and no one sold the lid, just the filter. Supply house had me covered. I got what I needed and no more leaks. Just like new. My water pressure was a lot higher too, so thats a plus.

I live in the Rocky Mountains so the water is hard with iron. I have filters before almost everything so when I did the instant hot water heater, I knew I would do one there too. I usually use the standard culligan standard house filtration system, but not for this. This seemed to be heavily linked and suggested with the rinnai instant hot water systems, so I went with it. 150% more pricey than the standard culligan but since this is my first rinnai instant hot water heater install, I wanted to do the best job possible. Whether paying more for this filter system was worth it, I just don't know. You still have to flush to system once a year anyhow with descaler but every little bit helps. Cheers

Well it was easy to install, hard to tell if it's doing anything, just installed because the tankless water heater recommended putting one of these in, only time will tell if it works, bought because of other reviews saying it worked. I don't have very hard water to begin with so hopefully I will just have to descale my heater once a year.

Use this on high levels of hardness helps a lot with tankless systems.
