Sentinel X100 Inhibitor provides protection for clean hydronic heating systems against limescale and corrosion. Suitable for use in all types of indirect heating system, Sentinel X100 Inhibitor will extend the life of the system, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimising fuel usage.

Usage/Dosage: 1 Quart of Sentinel X100 is sufficient to treat a typical residential system of 25 Gallons. Larger systems should be dosed at 1% of system water.
For best results, systems should be cleaned and flushed with clean make-up water. New systems and those up to 6 months old use X300-QT; Sentinel New System Cleaner (Quart). For existing systems use X400-QT; Sentinel System Restorer (Quart).

Worked for Three Years--Just Used Again
I have hydronic heat with a cast iron boiler, baseboard heat on one floor, and in-floor heat on the other. I used X100 after a system flush and restore using Sentinel X400 three years ago. When I opened the system this year to add a stop leak (it worked), there was no sludge and little indication of any corrosion. After a water flush, I decided I did not need to use restore again, and just added inhibitor to the system. I do buy the test kit, and check X400 level annually.

Hard to use
This product is designed to be used inside a pressurized closed pipe system. It had the strength necessary to treat a regular house 's hearing system but it is rather difficult to get it into the pipes. The container has a strange opening soit is hard to adapt to a hose or a filling valve. What I did was to poor the content into a weedkiller spraying container and adapt the hose of that to a filling valve on the pipes using an adapter that I had from a different, more user friendly version of the product that came in a caulking gun mountable container. It was not the easiest job to push this into the system, but in the end it was doable.

I used Sentinel X100 to stop the kettling in my boiler after I did flushed it with Sentinal X400. It still had some kettling after the restorer and the X100 totally finished solving the problem.

I do buy this product again and again
I have a cast iron boiler for hydronic heat. When I moved into the house, the system was filled with sludge and rust. Since I did a good flush and started using Sentinel X100, no more corrosion and no need to flush every year or every other year. I use their test kit and add inhibitor when needed, typically every other year.

Great for a cast iron boiler
I use this in conjunction with Sentinel X400 to flush and refill my hydronic heat system and inhibit corrosion. My house came with the cast iron boiler (would not be my choice) and lines had a lot of rust. Our regular maintainer did not do flushes. Once I started, I got lots of gunk out, had a line spring a small leak (polyethylene tubing) that I repaired with leak sealant, and now the liquid is clean when I flush every other year.

No More Cast Iron Boiler Corrosion
When I moved into this house in 2006, a professional came to repair an in-floor tube that we had broken in doing the remodel. He also made some changes to the boiler set up, and put in an inhibitor. I thought nothing of it until 2018, when I had some issues. The guy who came out replaced a part, commented on the sludge and the need to flush annually. He thought the fluid replacement was enough. I purchased this, the X100 test kit, and the X400 flush, and did a flush, replace, and inhibit. Since then, I test the inhibitor level annual, flush every two years, and have virtually no rust.

Seems to do what it needs to
Recently installed a Weil-McLain Evergreen Pro 155, and this is required by Weil-McLain to prevent any heat exchanger corrosion that could cause issues.
One comment: Getting this into the system could be a challenge. On this particular install, we used an Adey MagnaClean Professional 2 XP, which is the perfect way to add liquids like this to the system and prevent introduction of air. I highly recommend.

Q: I have an older hot water boiler system (residential-closed system). Your literature mentions "hydronic" , which is a newer term and related to systems unlike mine (unless this is a universal hot water term). The radiators I have are well over 50 years in age. My question is whether your X100 is meant for my type of boiler system?
