This product (22222-0000LF) is a standard SharkBite Ball Valve while the 24735LF is a Slip ball valve. The slip feature makes it easier to install in some copper applications. The 22222-0000LF measures about 3.06" long, while the slip valve 24735LF requires 2" of piping to be removed for installation. Please see the following installation guides for more info on removing pipe for installation: http://s3.supplyhouse.com/product_files/Cash-Acme%20-%2022222-0000LF%20-%20Install%20Instructions.pdf http://s3.supplyhouse.com/product_files/24735LF-product.pdf
SharkBite fittings may be used with either PEX-A or PEX-B tubing. However, only PEX-A tubing may be used when connecting with ProPex expander fittings.
You can use this to replace a gate valve, however, it is a ball valve not a gate valve. It will work like a ball valve.
Yes, these can be used to effectively replace gate valves.
I know of no reason why a ball valve would not operate where a gate valve does. Having said this, I suggest reading wikipedia on gate valves (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gate_valve), then consider if there is any unique property of your gate valve which would make a ball valve less desirable. I can think of none, but I have been caught before!! Good luck.
SharkBite fittings can be removed with the proper removal clip/tool.
All SB connections are releasable. You can purchase the release tool for the size you are up against or you can size a adjustable wrench around the pipe and it works the same. The secret is push against SB fitting pull out pipe. I believe the SB website has a video if you need further detail.
From end to end, this valve measures approximately 4 1/2".
Yes, these fittings are for PEX piping.
Yes, these fittings work with 1/2" Pex, or copper, or PVC. These are very versatile and provide instant connection.
This is a full bore ball valve.
I believe this valve to be a full port ball valve
Full bore
The item you would receive would be one piece with SharkBite fittings on both ends.
These SharkBite fittings have a 25 year warranty. If the fitting is installed properly there should be no reason that they would not last indefinitely in a system. If you were turning the valve on and off to an excess then you might wear the packing out but that would not effect the connection itself.
This specific SharkBite item has small traces of lead, but is approved in all states except California and Vermont.
There is a lead free version of this valve available, as with most Cash-Acme Sharkbite fittings. Just look for "LF" at the end of the product SKU.
