SBTL35 Insert is required when making a connection to PEX. A PEX to PEX connection requires (2) SBTL35 Inserts, one for each end. This insert is sold separately.
Underground burial of SharkBite brass fittings requires that the fitting be wrapped using silicone wrap (25406A).
The SharkBite Large Diameter straight coupling is the easiest plumbing fitting to join any combination of Copper, CPVC, PEX, PE-RT, and HDPE tubing together. With no soldering, clamps, unions or glue required, it’s as simple as inserting the pipe into the fitting deep enough to be sealed by our specially-formulated O-ring. Once inserted, the stainless steel teeth bite down and grip the pipe. This push-to-connect fitting is designed for potable water and radiant heating (including underground or behind-the-wall) applications with no access panels required. It is rated up to 200°F and 200 psi.

Great product to expedite assembly or the only option.
Purchased to make a connection too close to a press fitting to solder. This fitting came with a retainer release tool to make a complete insertion an easy task, releasing the tool secures the fitting fully inserted onto the pipe. No mallet and block of wood required. Nice!

You can not justify an alternative solution in some jobs
We had a welded coupling leak in a location that was almost humanly impossible to get to. In extremely cramped quarters, we were able to saw out the old coupling, clean the ends and slide the 2" pipe back into the Sharkbite. Huge labor savings with a simple repair!

Verified Reply- SharkBite 2XL are a commercial range of SharkBite fittings and ball valves, compatible with copper, PEX and CPVC pipe. SharkBite 2XL fittings are certified for use in commercial and residential applications for potable water, hydronic heating, chilled water and general water distribution for irrigation.

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffSharkBite fittings are compatible with soft copper. Just make sure not to allow the pipe to bend near the fitting connection. This particular coupling (SB0135) works with 1-1/4" (i.e. 1-3/8" OD) copper, PEX, or CPVC. You would need to use a SharkBite U020LF coupling with 1" nominal (1-1/8" OD) copper.
