I wanted to give these a 5 star, but couldn't.
I have historically had good results from Watts/Sioux Chief. I liked these over other makes because of the NSF-61 certification for a potable water sink fixture. They are quarter turn ball valves, and the sweat fitting is a bit longer (further away from the valve seat) making sweating easier.
Unfortunately, after I installed them, (leak tested on the supply side) everything appeared good until I hooked up the faucet. There was a leak, so I was planning on tightening the faucet compression, but realized it wasn't the compression that was leaking but the valve seam on the output on the back side of the valve. 3 out 4 of them in the same location.
I got them exchanged, and tried them again, this time no seam leaks. After some research, I have heard others complain of a similar defect with other brands, I guess you get a bad batch sometimes.
What I do now, is I purchased a 3/8" O.D. flex hose and pressure test the fixture side with the seam. I then dry them out prior to sweating them in.
