super tight fit (too tight)

1/2" pex couldn't fit through without significant force. It seems the small weld deforms the metal in the middle. I ran a file through it several times to allow the pex to pass through more easily. I'm glad I only needed one.

How tight? Your mileage may vary...

I had read the other reviews about how tight the fit could be on these. What I found: - PEX B (both red and blue) slid through easily. Not sure of the brand but it was from the big orange box store. - 1/2" copper also slid through easily (I just tested this for comparison, since they're all nominally supposed to be CTS) - Uponor-brand PEX A was tight, both white and red. But I found that simply wetting the tubing was sufficient to get it to slide through enough for my application. It did strip some of the coloring off the red tubing, but I terminated both lines with shut-offs immediately above the support sleeve, so I only needed less than an inch protruding. If I had needed to pass more tubing through these support, I probably would have either tried a bit of vegetable oil, or else done like another commenter mentioned and used a 1/2" reamer to ease the fit a bit. Summary: depending on the PEX you're using they might require a bit of finagling, but you should be able to get these to work.

Handy Item

Using SharkBite brand PEX-A. Red was a snug fit. Perfect! Blue pipe was a little loose. White pipe was way too tight ,but worked. I have read complaints about the tube being too small. But, it just depends on the PEX manufacturing size tolerances. So, I think the tube could be sized slightly larger to accommodate a pipe that is made a little fat. Just double check before installing to avoid frustration.

Works if you buy a reamer

I planned around these supports and could not find any replacements. So to get my PEX tubing through, I purchased a 17 mm reamer which gives me the clearance needed. If you elect my route, you better have a drill press available as you cannot ream these with a hand held electric drill. Also it takes some jig set-up to hold them. Yes, more work than one should do, but I liked them and made them work. What's new in today's world!

Does the job but very tight fit.

These supports are great for supporting the pex stubbed out of floors or up into cabinets. For some reason they are designed extremely tight. I had to use plenty of silicone lubricant to get the pex through these & it still put plenty of scratch marks in the pex. A little larger internal diameter would be a big improvement.
