Description
–
Sioux Chief 869 series ProCheck backwater valves shall be used where necessary in drainage systems. Backwater valve shall be installed in horizontal drainage lines to reduce or prevent damage to dwelling from sewage backup. Backwater valve shall have a stepped design to provide adequate fall through the valve body and encourage flow. Flapper shall install into valve body via removable carrier, which utilizes key-to-slot to ensure proper alignment. Flapper shall have a permanent, one-piece sealing surface, and allow unrestricted, unidirectional flow. Valve body shall be sealed by an impact/solvent resistant lid with o-ring. Backwater valve shall be adaptable to either shallow or deep-bury installations and be designed in accordance with ASME A112.14.1-2003

- Available for 3" or 4" Sch. 40 DWV lines.
- Valves can be adapted for standard, shallow-depth or deep-bury installations
- Modular valve design allows for interchangeable accessories - less inventory
- Structurally rugged and molded from engineered resins to stand up to job site abuse
- The unique flapper creates a tighter seal than other backwater valves

Having sewer backups from the city in heavy rain
I really like the design over all the other backwater valves I looked into...the shallow access with the top allows easy access the the valve when needed and fits flush with the floor. Now all I ask for is too keep the water from getting into my basement we shall see

Good product but...
The valve itself is good but something is lacking in the company's packaging. I ordered two. One was complete and the other was missing the valve lid and the check valve. I asked to have those parts sent but was instead sent another whole valve kit which I then had to open, remove the parts I needed, repackage, drive to the UPS store, and return. The box is the size of a microwave, so this isn't a simple task.This could not have been made more difficult by the staff of Supply House. If they had just sent the parts I needed, we could have just been done with this whole process in one small box. THE BEST part? The replacement they sent was missing other pieces (thankfully not the ones I needed).
