Over time, most original Slant/Fin baseboard covers get dented and begin to fall apart. These are nice, clean replacements that can easily be painted to match room color. As usual, Supply House has the best price!

Great product (a bit pricey) fast way to update your old baseboard in a fraction of the time it would take to replace.

I had reviewed YouTube videos from several manufacturers and decided on SlantFin's Revital/Line because the installation seemed easier. I was concerned, after I had ordered, because they're aluminum, that they may not hold up as well as my steel covers. Well, I changed my mind when I received them - much larger gauge then my old ones, which were looking shabby because of 50+ years of furniture "incidents". They are very sturdy! They look powder coated, but I do know if they were or weren't. Installation was as described and most of my effort was removing the nails securing the old backplate on the the old covers, which is retained and is needed for the install. About 10 years ago, in a remodeling project, I had to resize one of my baseboards and it took over two hours and a helper to remove the backplate. I had to do that because I ordered a complete new cover that looked the same as my old cover. I'm 75 now and I didn't want to go through that process again. After my first two, I could install one complete in 20 minutes or so. The hard part is getting up! The only negative I can come up with on Slant Fin's cover, is there is no provision for moderation of the heat coming off the baseboard. In retrospect, the truth of it is that all of our baseboard heaters were in the full open position, so what's the difference? If there was a problem, it could be fixed by zone controls or laying sheet metal on top of some of the fin tubing. Regarding Supply House, I have used them before with fast results and I did talk to Customer Service one time on this project. I got my questions answered, but it took a little time - they do sell a great number of items and to expect them to be experts on a slow mover would be unrealistic! My only concern was, because of supply chain problems, delivery took weeks and things arrived piecemeal. I would think that would've added to their shipping cost, but since shipping was free? Price was best I could find for product.
