The Taco 009-IFC with Integral Flow Check (IFC) is designed to reduce installation costs when zoning with "00" circulators on a wide range of residential and light commercial higher-head/lower-flow water circulating applications. Typical uses include Hydronic heating, Radiant In-Floor/Panel heating and closed-loop solar heating systems. The bronze 009-IFC can be used in higher-head/lower-flow heat recovery, ,open-loop solar heating and light commercial domestic water recirculation systems. The unique replaceable cartridge contains all of the moving parts and allows for easy service instead of replacing the entire circulator. Available with optional Priority Zoning or Variable Speed controls

Taco makes good pumps
After doing the proper friction loss calculations on a radiant floor Uponor Quick Track Wirsbo 5/16" hePEX installation that was outputting heat poorly, I determined the existing Taco 0015 was extremely under powered. Based on the pump curve it seemed that the Taco 009 was perfect for the job. It ended up increase the flow rate by 50% and made a big difference in overall system operation and room comfort. Just a quick tip for anyone else encountering the same situation, the flange of the 009 is 90 degrees different from the 0015. In my situation I didn't have the space to mount the pump that way, so I was able to rotate the top pipe and flange enough, then for the bottom I utilized a Double Flange Check Valve (sku 13703HV) to get the orientation needed and I pulled the flow check valve out of the pump. (see photo)
