Line Set Tape - White (2" x 180')

I found if you're wrapping a lime set that is 100% dust free, it sticks. If not, it won't and is very frustrating. Also, can rip very easily. I can't recommend it. Duct tape works much better.

To me, this is just a tinted and maybe slightly heavier duty version of packing tape. It's not opaque, it's just tinted white, and it's only rated for UV protection for 6 months. 3M makes some great stuff, but this isn't one of them in my opinion. Rather than this, I've been wrapping line sets in vinyl electrical tape, also 3M brand. The vinyl tape is more narrow, but it stretches, the adhesive is better, it's much thicker and more durable, and I know it will withstand exposure to the elements better.

Used this on 3ft of mini split lineset after the stock insulation fell apart. This is between a 12ft building wall and a 6ft fence in Virginia so it gets sun but not as much as it could, and it started breaking down after about year, and after 3 years it's pretty much turned to dust. Going to replace it with Airex sleeving.

This tape was easy to use to insure that 6 foot Kflex foam pile insulation lengths were securely sealed end to end and paired lines were tied together. I hope that this taping will last as I was told it is fine for outside use and with this type of pipe insulation.
