LFTB-2-1/2-232-248 Center Back Entry Bimetal Thermometer (2-1/2" Dial)

This is a "good enough" thermometer if you only need the most basic, cheapest unit out there. I like that it has a bronze thermowell but there is too much space between the thermometer and the thermowell. Moreover, the Watts thermometer body is made of deep-drawn steel, not brass. Worst of all, some of these Watts thermometers "stuck" on me. Which is to say, if you wanted an "actual" reading, you have to flick them with your finger, just like in the old movies. With a little jiggle, the newly-unstuck dial suddenly reads 10*F higher or lower, as it were. The reason this became obvious to me is that the incoming temperature for our IDWH was allegedly lower than the outgoing one. The TSW series from Winters also offers a bronze thermowell, but features a bronze thermometer body, no "stiction" like the Watts, and a tighter fit between the thermometer and the thermowell. Buy the Winters TSW series if you're actually interested in a accurate reading and are willing to pay 50% more than for the Watts.

Thermometer is accurate, right size dial and back-entry mount. Used in HWC loop.

This is a good replacement unit for coolers and freezers and will out last the digit units.

These things are working out good. I put them on the supply and all returns of my radiant floor and water heater loops. Easy to sync and low cost. Large and easy to read.
