Series LFFBV-3C-M1 and LFFBVS-3C-M1 Lead Free* 2-Piece, Full Port, Brass Ball Valves are designed for use in commercial and industrial applications for a full range of liquids and gases. They’re constructed for reliable performance with a fluorocarbon elastomer stem O-ring that prevents stem leaks, a bottom-loaded blowout-proof stem, and an adjustable stem packing gland. LFFBV-3C-M1 models have threaded end connections. LFFBVS-3C-M1 models have solder end connections. Available in sizes 1/4 to 4 inch.

Good quality, but trouble with soldering
These are high quality valves. Too many ball valves these days leak at the factory joint, and we've not had any trouble with these.
Unfortunately, it's difficult at times to get the solder to suck and flow all the way around the joint. This is most likely do to the lack of lead - most brass fittings have had issues since the new LF laws went into place - but it's still a pain.
Just be very careful soldering - we've taken to soldering them one side at a time, vertically - and you should be good to go.

check assembly of valve before soldering it in.
Valve was not assembled correctly. Didn't realize the valve was faulty until after the installation. Had to run to the local plumbing supply house to get a new one due to the fact I had the water main shut down to the whole house.

Good quality valve
The Watts ball valve appears to be good quality - I'll know more once it's installed. It would be an improvement if there was a label on the valve instructing it to be soldered into the piping with the val e in the open position.
