Yes, that thermostat will work for you. However, the direct replacement for your 1F81-261 is actually 1F85-0422.
I am using it on a zoned system currently. I have 2 thermostats, one upstairs, one downstairs, on a geothermal heat pump system. This thermostat was a replacement for the one upstairs after it went bad. Hope this helps.
the door pulls open from the top. the front should just pull off from the base
Yes it will
yes, single or two stage.
I'm not sure. I used it on a gas furnace / AC combination. You can see the installation instructions at the white Rodgers website if that helps. Bruce... Sent from my iPhone
I have installed this thermostat on both single stage and dual electric heat and both conventional a/c and heat pumps. Follow manufacturer's instructions as to what wire goes where and from there it is a matter programming for your preferences.
To remove the cover, pull it straight out from the base. To replace the cover, line up the cover with the base and press until the cover snaps onto the base. Please see the following: http://s3.pexsupply.com/manuals/1249544587127/White_Rodgers_1F85-277_Instructions.pdf
The setpoint temperature flashes when compressor time delay is enabled. Please refer to the manual linked below for more information and alternative solutions. http://s3.pexsupply.com/manuals/1249544587127/White_Rodgers_1F85-277_Instructions.pdf
I am not sure when or how long the display is flashing, but if you have the compressor lockout mode enabled and lose power momentarily or swap from heating to cooling the compressor will not restart for 5 minutes and the display flashes meanwhile. Just an idea.
Inside the little door at the bottom press the "HOLD" button, this stops all set programming indefinitely until you press "RUN"
Manual Operation Permanent Program Override (HOLD) - With the SYSTEM button set to HEAT or COOL, set to the desired temperature, then press the HOLD button once and release. "HOLD" will be displayed. The thermostat will hold the room temperature at the selected setting until you press RUN button to start program operation again.
I believe you use the hold function. With the run function the thermostat will maintain the temperature according to the programming. With the hold function the thermostat will maintain the temperature according to a single temperature you enter.
Just push the arrow on side of display up or down and open the cover on bottom and press hold.. I have also included a link to son that will give you the instuctions for everything you need to know hope this helps.... http://www.emersonclimate.com/Documents/White-Rodinstruction_sheets/0037-6560.pdf

When you see "BATT" displayed, it means the batteries are running low. To replace the batteries, set the system button to off and install the batteries along the top of the base.
Yes, you can use this thermostat to replace the 1F81-51.
This thermostat can replace your old one.
Please refer to the installation instructions ( http://s3.pexsupply.com/manuals/1249544587127/White_Rodgers_1F85-277_Instructions.pdf ) for step-by-step directions. Page 8 contains information on overriding programs and page 9 lists programming steps.
To program press the "PRGM" button and cycle through the day of the week and time of day to set each setpoint. You may need to put eh thermostat in "Heat" or "Cool" mode as each mode has different setpoints. To cancel a manual setpoint press "RUN" You can also get the original instructions at this site http://www.emersonclimate.com/en-US/products/thermostats/Pages/thermostats.aspx
