I would buy again.

The product was exactly as described. It fit the furnace perfectly and was easy to install. This is a great retrofit for older furnace with obsolete igniters.

A great igniter.

As a retired serviceman for a large gas company for 30 years, I have changed and installed many igniters. This model is by far the best I have found.

Excellent Upgrade

Replaced a spiral igniter on a Snyder- General Arcoaire gas furnace/AC which failed after 7 years of use. Heats quickly and efficiently initiates gas combustion. Easy to replace. Expect this one to last longer.

Great Universal Replacement

Inexpensive Universal Part to keep on the Service Truck. I've used several of them this year, so far so good.

Q: Should I use the heat shield when installing this ignitor?

A heat shield? No. Only use the bracket configuration that best matches where the old igniter's placement. If unsure, the end of the ignitor and about half the length should be in the gas stream. Avoid having the white ceramic portion and any of the metal bracket in the gas stream. This is not because of heat, but because you want to disrupt the stream of gas as little as possible while still getting reliable ignition. Disrupting the flow could cause gas to not get sucked into the burner port completely, so once installed, observe the burn to be sure there is no ignition outside the burner tube(s).
