EP Heating Manifold Elbow (Set of 2)

The Uponor, Right Angle EP Manifold set works but they fail to include a locking clip to stop them from rotating once in place and you try to install the shut off ball valves. Without the extra locking clip, (see photo), you need 3 wrenches to tighten the TruFLOW ball valves. I work alone. I guess you could make your own by crimping a piece of copper. They are also made of what I consider lightweight plastic, that doesn't give you a lot of confidence. It must be like sch. 20. Unlike the EP Manifold, which is robust. But they do the job and don't leak, even as they can rotate, with 40% glycol.

It says very clearly that these will go either up or down. THEY WON'T! I saw one other review that also said they won't so I talked to several people at supply house that assured be they would. These are threaded fittings and there is only one lead on the threads so they always wind up pointing the same way as the manifold loops. This makes no sense to me particularly in situations like mine where I am heating floors both above and below my boiler. Bottom line: just use all copper or pex lines from your manifolds.

These elbows are nice pieces, however they only assemble in the downward direction. I needed one to point up. Not the end of the world I just re-configured some things!
