No, there are no differences between the two, as they will both have the same effect in the system.
The four wire actuator would be used in an application with an end switch. The two wire actuator would not have that option in the application.
These can be mounted horizontally, but it is not recommended to mount upside down. If there was any type of leak in the system, it could damage the electrical parts.
