The Woodford R34 freezeless yard hydrant is intended for irrigation purposes and offers immediate water fl ow even in sub-zero temperatures. The R34 can be used for many applications such as filling field spray equipment, cleaning equipment or tools, livestock watering, garden and lawn care. The shut-off valve for the hydrant is below the frost line when installed properly, which allows the water in the standpipe to drain out a hole in the valve body. When the hydrant is shut-off, and all devices removed from nozzle, the hydrant will drain and not freeze.

Woodford Model R34 Yard Hydrant Looking Good/Working Great!

Yard Hydrants Hype and Reality
Generally any of the yard hydrant products are of questionable operation. They are supposed to protect water lines from freezing. If they are not installed per specs, it will fail. Rebuilding them with kits, is not realistic. I have disassembled many, and the condition of the rod, stopper, etc. is so bad, that they are not repairable. Digging them up and replacing the only real option. Customer want them, so we put them in. Supply house is great, fast service, wholesale prices, inventory. A Plus

Yes I like the product, but it's a hydrant you can get anywhere. What I loved was their service. I'm a world where everything is "you'll get it when you get it" I have been amazed that everything I order from them shows up almost immediately! Excellent customer service.
