Programmable One Stage Heat Thermostat

Clear, concise, and versatility in programming. A necessary component to an efficient radiant heat system.

I use this with a concrete slab - 600' of 1/2" pex tubing to heat an approx 20x40 garage turned shop area. PROS: Monitors both the air and slab temps and uses both to call for or shut off heat. Air temp low - checks slab. If slab is over max temp it won't call for heat. Slab reaches its minimum temp - calls for heat regardless of air temp. Also can be programmed to limit the number of on/off cycles per hour. I have set my max slab temp to 78 and my air temp to 63. Slab runs about 71 and to keep air at 63, and it doesn't feel cold. The programming functions are very limited on this unit. You set TWO temps: Occupied and Non-Occupied. Then you choose either 2 or 4 cycles per day, and set the times for those cycles to start. i.e. 2 cycles OCCUPY at 7am NON at 6pm for an office setup. 4 Cycles for a home where you're away at work OCC 6am, NON 8am, OCC 5pm NON 11pm. ONLY the times are flexible, NOT the number of cycles. And you can only specify an OCC and NON temp - no variation of that temp for the various on/off cycles. Turns out I don't bother with the programming - constantly set at one temp, which works well with concrete anyway. A much more flexible thermostat than the 501s that costs the same and has no programming.

Easy Install and setup. This replaces a bathroom floor heat thermostat that was non programmable.
