Every 2 years you'll need this!

I have a Vertex AO Smith 100,000 BTU 50 gal. This has save my water heater. So far it's 6 years old with no problems!!! This recommendation of every 2 years should give the life of my heater of over 10 years! Great tip.

Would give zero stars if I could. Didn't last two months

Had to confirm this was the correct replacement rod for my water heater before I could order with the sales agent. She said this was definite one. Upon removing the old one, it was 42" long, this one was 32". Looked through the site and did not see any of that length so I installed it as I needed to get me water heater working again. Hasn't even lasted two months and it's as bad as the original one. Absolutely ridiculous. I even have a whole house water filtration / softener unit. Don't need to be replacing this every other month. Ridiculous !

Solid Anode Rod, Great for Peace of Mind.

I replaced the anode rod in my AO Smith water heater after two years of use. While you can't see any dramatic difference in the tank's performance, it provides excellent peace of mind. Staying on top of preventive maintenance like this is essential if you want to avoid expensive repairs down the road from neglecting your water heater.

Exact right part for my water heater.

Decided it was time to replace the rod in my gas water heater. Took a while to find it, then even more difficult to find a socket to fit. Tried an impact socket- too thick. Ordered a specialized socket for removing water heater anode rods. The rod that I received from supply house was the exact replacement and I was glad that once I had the correct tools, the rod went in with no problems. Thank you for the great deal and good part.

Exactly what I needed.

Anode was fine, correct part, well packaged so it arrived perfectly. Faster than I expected. 5 stars because my dog loved chewing the crap out of the box so much, and that made me quite happy.

ASK A QUESTION

Q: Is a magnesium anode a better choice than aluminum? Also, if the anode is too long, can you just hacksaw a peice off?

Hi Gary. Magnesium is the most common material used in anode rods, however, it sometimes can leave behind an odor that aluminum typically does not. These anode rods can be cut to length.
