Usless as an extention
I had 5/8" sheet rock put on the walls of my garage. The boxes were set at 1/2" and some where on an angle. I bought these as extensions so the receptacles would mount flush with surface of the sheet rock. They are the same width as the electrical box so they just slide inside of the sheet rock. I ended up cutting some of them up to make shims for the outlet so that the cover plate would sit on the surface of the sheet rock. Not sure what there purpose is?

Very good at isolating the sides of the outlet box
Works very well for isolating the outlet box from the wall cavity. It still slips and does not provide rigid mounti for the receptacle, and it is tough to get long screws to line up.

Same product goes for more than double elsewhere. Works great on tile backsplash outlets and more. People complaining about taper or no screws just don't know what they are getting in the first place. This is just the extension, most times, the receptacle screw is long enough
