Beckett PSC Burner Motor (120V, 1/7 HP, 3450 RPM)

I was having constant problems with our hot air furnace. Had to make many trips down cellar to reset the burner control and with temps running in the mid twenties, I decided to sit next to the furnace to analyze the problem. When called for heat, and no fire I heard a humming noise from the oil burner motor. Many resets and humming always there..I lost my temper and struck the motor with a closed fist.......the motor came on ! I jumped on the internet and ordered a replacement motor. Service was as promised (as usual) and 1/2 hour after it arrived...we had reliable heat. Supply house is my go to plumbing suppler..pricing is the best!

Yes, the Beckett Burner motor fixed my intermittent old original Beckett motor, and it's smaller than the original, but it is louder when right in front of the burner, and the sound resonates through my house where I can here it in the bedrooms on the other side of the house (60 ft away!). The old motor had a dead spot where it wouldn't always start unless given a good hit, or moved off of the dead spot, but all you heard was the flame which was fine. Now it sounds like a quieter version of a cheap oilless compressor! Works fine, but is louder and resonates though the house. Heard other people's motors on UTube videos before buying a new motor and thought I'm glad my burner doesn't sound like that. Now it sounds like that. :( Don't think anything is wrong with it, as it works great. It's just louder where you can hear it well over the flame. May eventually try a Marathon or other motor brand.
