Circulating Pump For Outdoor Wood Boiler

If you have an OWB, with a foreign made pump, replace it immediately with this. I have a 200 ft enclosed loop and this pump is much more economical to run. Energy costs were reduced and burn times increased due to a faster circulation of the water. Solid pump and so quiet you can't tell if it's even running half the time. Supply house had the pump to me on the 2nd day after it was ordered. Awesome pump, and comes with a 3 year warranty!

sounds eccentric

This pump seems to be working fine. It handles the load nicely without exceeding the present capacity of my solar array to power it. However, instead of a smooth running noise, there is an eccentric "whup - whup - whup" sound. It sounds like the parts are not properly centered. Everything "works fine" so far, but I wonder if it is inefficient, or if it will be likely to fail early. Customer service referred me to Bell & Gossett, who referred me to a local rep, who listened to my story and promised "to get back to me." I am still waiting.

I will continue to buy from Supply House

We use this circulating pump for pasteurizers for calf milk and Supply House had the pump in stock and overnighted it with no problems. The staff is very helpful.

Nice quiet pumps

Bought two of these pumps and they came in about three days, free shipping. I'm using them on an outdoor wood boiler. My other pumps were not pumping good and were getting noisy after 12 years of constant running. Same brand.

Q: Can this pump be used for domestic hot water?

This is a cast iron booster pump. It is meant for use in closed heating systems. For an open domestic water system you would be better off looking at a stainless steel or bronze circulator pump.

Q: can this pump be used as a irrigation booster pump outdoors w/ approx 40 psi input press.

No. This pump will not deliver anywhere near the pressure or volume you will need for an irrigation system. It is not intended for "open systems" and would not hold up well in this application.

no, I reused the flanges that were in place when I replaced the pump. Will have to order flanges if it is a new install. It does come with 2 new gaksets
