3/4" Copper, Plastic Split Escutcheon, Chrome Plated (7/8" OD)

We had a floor mounted 1987 metal escucheon that rusted. This was, amazingly, the perfect solution. Looks like chrome, you can break in apart so it can go around the pipe, put the slight crack in the back and nothing is noticeable. Looks like it was installed w/ the pipe. Neat trick.

The chrome coating finish has many defects in it. They have poor quality controls. I bought two (2) of these Bluefin ESBS050 escutcheons and one (1) similar, but slightly more expensive, Wal-rich 1731602 escutcheon. The Bluefin many defects. From far away, they are fine, but up close reveals poor manufacturing processes. The Wal-rich does not have any of these types of defects. Their process control is much better, but the Bluefin coating feels a little thicker and more durable. I immediately put a bunch of light scratches (swirl marks) on the Wal-rich by wiping off fingerprints. The Bluefin does not get scratched as easily. It is hard to say what is better. They are both mediocre, and I'm not happy with either one. The good news is that they are cheap and the split seam allows you to easily pop them off and replace them without removing plumbing fittings. Speaking of the split seem, it is visible but not that noticeable unless you see it in the right light. The metal plates are cheaper and much better but they corrode and rust over the years. They also do not have the split in them. I wish I could find one made from stainless steel. Then it would never need to be replaced.
